In case you don't know about it, Office Live Small Business has started offering private domain registration for $6.95 per year. Not a bad rate. Even GoDaddy charges $6.99 per year.
When you sign up for private domain registration, your contact information in your domain registrar's records is replaced by the private domain service provider's contact information.
Whenever somone tries to get in touch with you based the information in the domain registry, the private domain service provider receives the communication instead of you.
The provider discards all spam and forwards genuine communications to you.
Private domain registrations are good for protecting your privacy. They also help stop spurious domain expiry notices. I recommend making your domain private.
