Beginner's How-To: Sign In and Out of Your E-mail Account

You can sign in to your e-mail account in two ways:

1. From the Office Live Small Business Home page
2. At the Windows Live Hotmail web site

Signing In From the Office Live Small Business Home page

• To sign in from the home page, click the Inbox link in the E-mail tile on the home page as shown in Figure 1:

• Sign in to your Office Live Small Business Account to arrive at the Home page
• If you’ve already signed in, click the Office Live Small Business logo to go to the Home page

Signing In At the Windows Live Hotmail Web Site

1. Point your browser at http://mail.live.com. The Windows Live Hotmail Sign in page greets you. It’s quite like the Office Live Small Business Sign in page and works the same way too
2. If you see your Windows Live ID, select it and type your password. Otherwise, enter both your Windows Live ID and your password

TIP  If you check the Remember me on this computer checkbox, you won’t have to retype your Windows Live ID the next time you sign in. If you check the Remember my password check box, you won’t have to retype your password the next time you sign in. When you check either of the checkboxes, Office Live Mail sets a cookie in your browser to remember your settings. To clear the cookie, sign out of your Office Live Mail account.

To sign in securely over SSL, click Use enhanced security on the sign in page. The address in your browser’s address bar will change to one that begins with https://. Remember, however, that only the sign-in happens over a secure channel; subsequent access to your mail is still unsecured.

3. Click the Sign in button. You’ll arrive at the Office Live Mail home page
4. Click Inbox in the left navigation bar.

No matter which method you used to sign in, you should now see your inbox, as shown in Figure 2.

Signing Out from Your E-mail Account

To sign out, click the Sign out link in the top right-hand corner of any Office Live Mail page (See Figure 2).
